The online shopping platform (turkishsouq.qa) provides easy access to Turkish products ranging from clothing, shoes, accessories, home furnishing, furniture and as well as vehicle parts and everything in-between, all at a flat delivery rate of QR50 by Q-Post.

“Turkish Souq is doing excellent. Given the sharp rise in trade volumes and overwhelming response, we are introducing large number of new products on the webstore. And we hope that by the first quarter of 2019 the range of products will reach over five million,” Faleh bin Mohammed Al Naeimi, Chairman and Managing Director of Q-Post told The Peninsula.

Al Naeimi added: “We at Q-Post are expanding our operations rapidly, especially in the logistics sector, helping our clients and corporate to reach out to customers worldwide. He noted that over the last couple of years, Q-Post has already introduced several changes, which included a lot of new services such as logistics, home-delivery and e-commerce services.

He also noted that Q-Post is giving top priority to a lot of services, which is the main business of the organisation. It has achieved significant improvement in this regard.

“We are giving global priority to improve the quality of our services which has helped us earn international recognition.

“We are among the top five in the world in terms of quality of services, such EMS or the regular mail services. We have also been certified with three ISO certifications for our integrated management system,” said Al Naeimi.

Q-Post is also working on a lot of other projects which are currently in the pipeline, such as its self-service kiosks, which is to be rolled out within months across the country.

Asked about the survival of the classic postal services in this digital era, he said that such services will continue as everybody will receive parcels and letters but the volume of letters will be replaced by parcels (of goods) “which is growing incredibly”.

“Thanks to the digital and e-commerce arena in which we live. All the postal companies have no choice but to reform and transform the way we do business as per the fast changing equation,” said Al Naeimi.

On the possibility of introducing new technology such as drones for the door-to-door delivery of parcels, he said that Q-Post has carried out a successful pilot project in this regard a couple of years ago.

“We did a trial with 5kg and 10kg parcels, which worked successfully with 4G networks. Now we have 5G networks in Qatar so it will work more efficiently. We have already approved the concept and waiting for the needful legislation which will allow such services to be operational at full scale,” said Al Naeimi.
