The winter vegetable markets, located in Al Sheehaniya, Al Mazrouha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor-Al Zakhira and Al Shamal will keep operating from 7:30pm to 12midnight till the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The operations will resume at Al Mazrouha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor-Al Zakhira markets on fourth day of Eid Al Fitr from 7am to 12noon, said the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in a statement.
Two markets — Al Sheehaniya and Al Shamal —will stop operation after Ramadan for this season.
Qatar’s demand for producing farm products has been on the rise, in recent years. The country is focusing exclusively on the local production to secure food safety. These markets serve as a platform for the local farmers to sell their products directly to the customers without middlemen.
At the same time, it helps the customers to get fresh agricultural produce at reasonable prices. The winter vegetable markets are located in Al Sheehaniya, Al Mazrouha, Al Wakrah, Al Khor-Al Zakhira, and Al Shamal. It is worth noting that these markets received huge success over the past few seasons.
