Issuing another reminder, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA) has requested the owners of institutions and companies who are subject to provisions of the Labour Law, promulgated by Law No 14 of 2004, to comply with Ministerial Resolution No 16 of 2007 that specifies working hours in exposed/outdoor places during the summer.
The MADLSA, represented by the Labour Inspection Department, conducted extensive inspection campaigns from June 15-18 to ensure companies’ compliance with the Ministerial Decision. Accordingly, 56 companies’ worksites were closed for three days for violating the provisions of the decision.
Summertime hours for work performed in the sun or open spaces remain in effect from June 15 to August 31 every year. The morning shift of five hours ends before 11.30am, while the evening shift starts at 3pm.
