Woqod Vehicles Inspection (Fahes) has announced that the normal technical inspection of vehicles will resume next month. Since March , vehicles in Qatar have been exempted from inspection, because of the Covid-19 situation.

Vehicle owners were allowed to register for inspection, as well as make payments, using the Woqod mobile app without having to go to any technical inspection centre. In an announcement on the social media pages of Qatar Fuel (Woqod) yesterday, Fahes said: “We would like to inform that all Fahes centres, in co-ordination with the Traffic Department, will resume normal operations for vehicle inspections starting from August 9.

Physical inspection of vehicles will stop with effect from August 1. Hence, all vehicles registered online for inspection after July 31 will need to undergo a complete vehicle inspection at Fahes centres.”

Further, the announcement points out that heavy vehicles that used to be inspected at the Industrial Area Fahes centre prior to the closure will now be inspected at Fahes, Al Mazrouah.

In an earlier announcement Fahes had said that once the Covid-19 crisis ends and when the stations are up and running, customers who have paid the fees online will be entitled to a vehicle inspection until December 31 at any Fahes centre.

To ease the registration process, Woqod updated its mobile phone application to allow customers to register their vehicles through it and receive a text message informing them to complete the process and proceed further with renewing the registration certificate.

“We at Fahes understand the current situation and promise all our valued customers who paid the fees online that once the Covid-19 crisis ends and when the stations are up and running, they will be entitled to a vehicle inspection until December 31, against the payment made earlier by them online, at any of the Fahes centres,” it had said.

However, yesterday’s announcement had no mention of the inspection of vehicles, which have passed the ‘test’ by using the Woqod mobile app.
