The programme aims to upgrade the academic and professional level of teachers in Qatar
Qatar University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, has launched an all-new educational programme, ‘Tumouh’.
The programme aims to provide the local job market with qualified teachers and is being conducted in co-ordination with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs (MADLSA).
The programme aims to attract Qatari talents as well as the children of Qataris and Qatar-born to encourage them to study in educational specialties, especially scientific disciplines, which will contribute to the development of the learning environment and meet the needs of local schools in various disciplines, QU has said in a press statement.
The programme is included in the government scholarship programmes supervised by the MADLSA.
The full-time programme is consolidated by 120 credit hours spread over four years and the student will graduate with a bachelor degree accredited by the International Recognition in Teacher Education. The registration is now open until the end of September via: https://scholarship.sec.gov.qa/
Dr Ahmed Abdulrahman al-Emadi, dean of College of Education at Qatar University, said: “’Tumouh’ is part of Qatar’s efforts to invest in human resources and build national capacities that lead the educational field in the country. The programme is part of an integrated system to upgrade the academic and professional level of teachers, which will reflect on the quality of educational outputs in schools and contribute to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030.”
