Architects’ Hub Qatar will hold a series of virtual events to discuss a number of topics about architecture and other related fields this month and in June, it has been announced.
Architect’s Hub Qatar is a business networking hub that offers an online directory for local architecture firms in the country and organises events for face-to-face networking.
A talk via Zoom about “the impact of Lean Construction in projects and one’s career moving forward”, scheduled on May 19 at 7pm. Other details are expected to be announced soon.
Author, educator and artist Eric Broug, who specialises in Islamic geometric design, will be discussing his new book ‘Architecture of the Muslim World’ on May 29 at 7pm via Zoom. He will be giving an update about the progress of his work, and the challenges along the way.
He is also the author of Islamic Geometric Patterns and has been active in Islamic geometric design for more than 25 years and passionate about the creative and educational opportunities this design tradition offers to a wide range of audiences.
In an email to Culture Pass members, Broug was quoted as saying: “I am blessed to have been asked to write this large book on architecture from the Muslim world. Most of the general books on Islamic art and architecture are 70% art and 30% architecture and only cover the Middle East, North Africa, Iran, Central and South Asia and Andalucia.
“This has always seemed wrong to me. What about sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Asia, Horn of Africa, America, Russia, China, etc? This book will be global in its scope, written for architects and designers.”
On June 6, Galaxy Academy is set to conduct a 48-hour BIM (Building Information Modeling) Project Management Course led by course tutor, Hossam Raafat Farag, a BIM coach with more than 14 years of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, and more than 11 years in the BIM implementation through different levels.
The ‘B2B Furniture Exhibition and Conference’, organized by Qatar’s mission to Ukraine, is scheduled to take place on June 16 and 17 in Ukraine, giving participants an opportunity meet and network with many different Ukrainian furniture manufacturers.
The main goals are to create co-operative relationships and open new professional perspectives, cultural exchange, and offer Qatar architects a chance to get acquainted with Ukraine.
